Cremation urns made from stone have been around since the dawn of civilization. By the rise of the Roman Republic in 100 B.C. they were produced in mass with many beautiful specimens made from alabaster shown in museums world-wide. Our Memorial Gallery Alabaster Urns are a particularly good value. Made by the hands of old-world craftsmen in Spain, the stone is turned on a lathe and "cut" to shape with blades as one would turn a piece of wood on the lathe. The result is stunning. The alabaster is somewhat translucent to light making it look glowing and magnificent when back lit by the morning or evening sun. Most of these can be engraved on the lid with your loved one's name and dates plus special message.
