Italian alabaster is highly prized for its fine grain and translucency. This cremation keepsake urn is handcrafted by an artist from a block of solid stone. Each piece is formed with the aid of a lathe similar to the process for wood urns. This particular piece is made to hold a small amount of ashes which makes it appropriate for use as a keepsake urn or a child/infant urn.
